Public Hearing.



Notice is hereby given that the Southwest Iowa Housing Trust Fund, Inc. will conduct a public hearing concerning an application to the Iowa Finance Authority – State Housing Trust Fund.  This application helps to fill an identified need to improve housing options for low-to-moderate income residents of southwest Iowa.  The Southwest Iowa Housing Trust Fund will request $331,727 from the Iowa Finance Authority and provide $82,932 in local funds.  All funds will benefit persons of low-to-moderate income.  This project will not displace persons or businesses.  The Southwest Iowa Housing Trust Fund will submit the application on or before October 1, 2017.  Public comment is welcome at the meeting, or in writing up to the time of the meeting.  The meeting is at the office of Southwest Iowa Planning Council, 1501 SW 7th Street, Atlantic, IA, 50022 on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.  Should you have any questions prior to the meeting, please call Tammy DeBord, Southwest Iowa Planning Council, at 712-243-4196.  You may submit written comments until the day of the meeting to the above address.

Public meeting to discuss Iowa Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to be held in Ames Aug. 24


AMES, Iowa – Aug. 4, 2017 – The Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a meeting to accept public comments about the draft Iowa Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) in the northwest wing first floor conference room at the Iowa DOT headquarters, 800 Lincoln Way, in Ames, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24.

The draft STIP identifies all projects proposed to be authorized for funding provided by the Federal Highway Administration or Federal Transit Administration during federal fiscal years 2018-2021. It includes projects for state, county, city, and federal transportation systems. Development of the STIP is required by federal law. The draft STIP can be viewed on the Iowa DOT's website at:
