Finance Manager

 

Southwest Iowa Planning Council, a council of governments serving 8 counties, seeks a professional, motivated candidate with proven accounting experience to join our staff as Finance Manager. The Finance Manager is a professional, administrative position directly responsible for the day-to-day finance operations of the agency. The position is under the general supervision of the Executive Director. The Finance Manager conducts fund accounting using the agency’s Abila MIP software. The position is involved with all aspects of data entry and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, and have at least three years of business, government, or non-profit accounting experience. The position is located at the SWIPCO offices in Atlantic, Iowa. A comprehensive benefits package, including IPERS is available. Salary is competitive and depends on qualifications. Summer Planning Intern

 

Southwest Iowa Planning Council, a council of governments serving 8 counties in southwest Iowa, is accepting applications to fill a summer planning intern position in the Community Development Department. This is a 40-hour per week position to assist with regional planning to include, but not limited to, comprehensive plans, data collection, and housing studies. Frequent travel within the region using a company vehicle required. The ideal candidate should be currently pursuing a degree in planning, geography, political science, or a related field, and have completed at least two academic years of college course work. Community Development Specialist

 

Southwest Iowa Planning Council, a council of governments serving 8 counties in southwest Iowa, seeks an individual with significant city finance/city clerk experience to join our team as a municipal outreach community development specialist.  This individual directly assists cities within the region complete the necessary functions of government, especially during times of transition. Duties include but are not limited to budgeting and reporting. Occasional to frequent travel within the region is required. Depending on the skill sets and desired work level of the successful candidate, this position may be full time, part time, or filled on a contract basis. Part Time Drivers

 

Southwest Iowa Transit Agency needs part-time drivers to transport individuals in Shelby and Pottawattamie County and the city of Council Bluffs.  Starting pay is $12/hour, plus incentives. Must have, or be willing to obtain, Commercial Drivers License Class C or above with a passenger endorsement. May use SWITA buses for testing.  Pre-employment drug screen.
