Southwest Iowa Planning Council is seeking bids for snow removal at 1501 S.W. 7^th St., Atlantic, IA 50022. SWIPCO Snow Removal Specifications

Southwest Iowa Planning Council/Southwest Iowa Transit Agency is committed to a safe environment for our workers and clients. Part of that commitment to safety is ensuring that our facilities are safe for both workers and clients during and after inclement weather.

Our normal working hours are 6:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended service. We need our parking and walkway areas clear of snow and ice during those times, therefore these specifications are intended to apply when there are accumulating snow or ice. It is the expectation of SWIPCO/SWITA that the successful bidder will dispatch themselves in a timely manner to ensure appropriate snow removal, or if there is any doubt as to whether or not to provide service, to call the designated point of contact.

The successful bidder shall:

Clear the entire paved area at 1501 SW 7^th St, plow the gravel area as needed.
Salt as appropriate.
Re-Plow as necessary unless the office has closed.
Shovel all sidewalks and keep entryways clear.

Bids shall be on a per plowing basis, either as a lump sum per trip, trip rate plus a time factor, or a time factor. If a time factor, such as blade minutes, is used, you must provide your estimate of how much time a typical snow occurrence will require. Bidders must also include proof of liability insurance in an amount not less than $250,000, and at least 2 professional references.

Drivers

Region Wide Drivers:

Southwest Iowa Transit Agency (SWITA) is seeking a part-time drivers in the region for a number of shifts. Applicant must possess or be willing to acquire a commercial driver’s license class C with passenger endorsement (SWITA will assist with ELDT and drive test), and enjoy working with the public. Starting wage is $16.25 per hour plus IPERS and PTO. Applicant must be able to obtain a CDL Medical Exam and pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen.
