SWIPCO also operates Southwest Iowa Transit Agency (SWITA), a public transportation system, throughout the same eight counties. SWITA has 50+ drivers operating a variety of transportation services which include:

| Scheduled routes through smaller communities to local trade centers, | |
| Contract services for schools, disabled workshops, mental health agencies, etc., and | |
| Special trips for non-profit agencies |

Approximately 1,000 rides are provided each day.
To arrange for transportation or if you have questions, call Southwest Iowa Planning Council at 1-800-842-8065 or 1-712-243-4196 at least 24 hours in advance. Wheelchair transportation is available with advanced notice.
SWITA service may be available for special trips based on availability of dates and drivers. Reservations are required. The cost for such trips are based on hourly rates of driving and waiting times. To make reservations call, 1-800-842-8065.
Southwest Iowa Transit Agency (SWITA) is owned and operated by the Southwest Iowa Planning Council. Funding for SWITA is provided, in part, by the Federal Transit Administration, Iowa Department of Transportation, member communities, and counties.
